Ego Investments 1 LLC is a life insurance company. That's the whole list — we find rates for people who need life insurance, and we don't pretend to do anything else. If you came here looking for a commercial liability, property or fleet policy, we're not the right call. If you own a business and you've been meaning to sort out coverage on yourselfkeep reading.
Why business owners come to us for life insurance
When you work for yourself, there's no HR department quietly enrolling you in anything. Nobody hands you a benefits packet in January. The coverage question just sits there until something makes you think about it — a new loan, a new baby, a friend's bad news — and then it's urgent.
Most of the owners Caroline talks to are in one of these spots:
- They're the business. If they stop, the income stops, and the household feels it first.
- They signed personally on a loan or a lease and want a policy big enough that their family isn't left holding it.
- They left a salaried job and walked away from the group life coverage that came with it.
- They bought a small policy years ago, never looked at it again, and have no idea if the amount still makes sense.
None of that requires a long meeting. It requires someone to run the numbers honestly and tell you what the monthly cost actually looks like.
What we ask before we quote a rate
A real quote needs real answers. There's no form to fill out first — Caroline asks, you answer, and she works from there. Expect questions about:
- Your age and date of birth
- Whether you use tobacco or nicotine in any form
- Height and weight
- Health history — conditions, surgeries, medications you take now
- How much coverage you're after, and who you want it to go to
- How long you need it: a set number of years, or for life
- What you can comfortably pay every month
If you don't know the coverage amount yet, that's normal. Bring the debts, the mortgage, the years of income you'd want replaced, and we'll work backward to a number instead of guessing at one.
Four life insurance questions worth settling first
Term or whole life. Term covers you for a fixed stretch — ten, twenty, thirty years — and costs less per dollar of coverage. Whole life lasts as long as you pay for it and builds cash value, which is why the premium is higher. Neither one is the right answer for everybody. The right answer depends on what you're protecting and for how long.
New parents. The month a baby arrives is the month the math changes most. Coverage is also cheapest when you're young and healthy, which is exactly when it feels least necessary. Locking in a rate now is usually the cheapest version of this decision you'll ever be offered.
Gaps in an employer policy. Group life through a job is a fine start and a poor finish. It's often only one or two times your salary, it usually isn't yours to keep when you leave, and it rarely covers a mortgage plus the kids' future. A personal policy travels with you.
Applying with a health history. Diabetes, high blood pressure, a past surgery, something in the family line — none of it automatically means no. It means the application matters more, and it means telling the truth up front so nothing surprises anyone later. Caroline has placed coverage for people who assumed they were uninsurable.
Why the 3am call gets answered
Ego Investments 1 LLC is open Monday through Sunday, 24 hours a day. That isn't a marketing line about availability — it's because people think about this at odd hours. After a night shift. After a doctor's appointment. At two in the morning when the house is finally quiet and the worry shows up. Whenever you're ready to talk about it, there's a licensed agent on the other end.
In their words
I'd been putting off life insurance for three years. Caroline walked me through term versus whole life without pushing me toward the expensive one, and I had a policy in place in under two weeks.
I have a health condition and assumed I'd be turned down flat. She told me exactly what the carriers would ask and helped me get approved anyway.
Self-employed, so no benefits, no group plan, nothing. She priced a few options, explained what I was actually buying, and answered her phone every single time I called back with another question.
